Lockdown will be removed in Gujarat but zone wise: Report sent to center

Gujarat government planning: The state will be divided into red, yellow and green zones: report sent to center

PM Modi announces a seven-day lockdown to fight the Corona virus.  After the lockdown which ends on April 7, the Gujarat government will remove the sanctions in phases.  According to sources, the Gujarat government has sent a report to the Center about the phased delay in lockdown.  The High-Level Committee proposes to divide the state into three-green, yellow and red zones based on Covid-1 cases and the number of people quarantined.  It was reported in a report published in the Times of India.

According to sources related to the matter, according to the report, people in the green zone will be granted exit permits.  The Yellow Zone will be able to get out with some restrictions and there will be no exit permit in the Red Zone.  Each phase will be of 2 days time.  Thus, it will take 3 days to remove the complete lockdown from Gujarat.

According to sources, the central government discussed the state governments and sought views on how the lockdown could be opened after April 7.  To which the Government of Gujarat sent these recommendations.  It is worth mentioning that the number of corona virus cases in Gujarat is increasing very rapidly.

According to top sources in the state government, suggestions have been sent to the center and a final decision on it can be taken after April 7.  The state government has also suggested that industrial and commercial units be exempted for the facilities required in the first phase.  According to the other Commercial and Industrial Activity Guidelines, safety and caution may begin in the second and third phases.  The report also mentions that school, college and academic institutes could start in the second and third phases after lockdown.

The state government has suggested that public transport should be kept in the cities until the lockdown is complete.  While airlines and trains should be granted permits in the third phase.  The malls and multiplex lockdowns should remain closed until fully cleared.

A top government official said that these suggestions were made in view of the current state of the Corona virus and the financial loss to the state government from the lockdown.  According to the official, the decision on whether the lockdown should be stopped in a phased manner will be decided by the central government.  If the central government increases the lockdown, then the state government will follow that decision.
