Incorporated in 1934, Mumbai based Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited is a defense public sector undertaking shipyard engaged in the construction and repair of warships and submarines for the MoD. It is a wholly-owned GoI company, conferred with the 'Mini-Ratna-I' status in 2006. The company is India's only shipyard to have built destroyers and conventional submarines for the Indian Navy. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders get SEBI's go ahead for IPO. The PSU Company is promoted by President of India. They are India's biggest warship builders. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders has current order for building four P-15B destroyers, four P-17A stealth frigates and five Scorpene class submarines for the Indian Navy. The value of the order is around 52000 crore rupees. The company is located in Mumbai and they are the only shipyard which build destroyers and conventional submarines for the Navy.
